BMG Winter Induction and Test 2011

Last week the BMG winter test and induction courses took place. Both courses were convened by Graeme Ettle and were based in the Cairngorms. Saturday was the winter induction exam, this is the last of three days of practical examinations that must be passed by any person wishing to start the guides training scheme. The applicants had already been through rock climbing and skiing induction courses to validate their paper application. The format for the day was two applicants would climb with one assessor on a grade V mixed climb.

BMG Winter Induction March 2011

For the BMG “Registrants” the winter induction was our final test for this part of the training scheme. Having all completed the Rock induction and training, the Ski technique course and induction and the five day Avalanche course in La Grave we were all getting to know each other fairly well along with getting to know the format for the BMG inductions.
