Neil Hitchings
I am based near Chamonix, guiding all year round. My passion for rock climbing brought me to the Chamonix valley in the late Seventies. I soon also became an equally keen off-piste skier and ski-tourer.
When guiding my aim is cater to each individual’s aspirations, encouraging and coaching them to go beyond their normal comfort zone, at the same time through my knowledge and experience keeping an eye on their safety. Be it on a spectacular ice fall in a remote alpine valley, slaloming through tight trees on a powder run in La Grave or Chamonix, experiencing the exposure on a multi-pitch rock climb in the Verdon gorge in the south of France or the stillness of an Alpine summit on a summer’s day.
I guide throughout the European Alps and further a field.
