Richard Mansfield
I have had a lifelong passion for the mountains and have spent the past 28 years instructing skiing and mountaineering throughout the world.I spent several years as a Senior Instructor at Glenmore Lodge (the Scottish National Outdoor Training Centre) instructing, coaching and guiding on a wide range of courses.I was also a member of the Glenmore Mountain Rescue Team for 6 years. I qualified as an International Mountain Guide in 1993. I have climbed, instructed and guided extensively throughout the UK and Europe as well as Canada, Alaska, North and South America and the Nepalese, Tibetan and Indian Himalaya. I have been involved in Team Safety on many TV programmes, films and photoshoots over the past 20 years. I live in Chamonix and am a member of both the British and French Mountain Guides Associations.
I have just completed a 4 year post as a Director of the British Mountain Guides Association (BMG) and as the Training Officer for the BMG, coordinating and running the training and assessing of all British Mountain Guides.
I run my own company Mountain Guides Ltd personally guiding full time and working with guides who also have a passion for the mountains and who like me think life should be an adventure. The core goal of Mountain Guides Ltd is to provide exceptional courses and private guided experiences that will be fun and educational.
