Cain Olsen
I was born in Solihull (England) and since the age of 10, grew up on a farm in Northern Tuscany with my family, where we made wine and olive oil. I have spent the last 25 years hiking, climbing and skiing in the Alps and am extremely knowledgeable about their nature, history and culture. I achieved degrees in Physical Education and Sports Management at Florence and Newcastle Universities and successfully completed a UIAGM / IFMGA mountain guide course in Italy, the highest internationally recognized qualification for instruction and guiding in rock and ice climbing, mountaineering, off-piste skiing and ski touring. I have been guiding in the Alps since 2002 and have professionally lead treks and climbing expeditions in Asia, South America and the Middle East. I live in Valcamonica, in the Central Italian Alps, with my wife Alice and our three sons, Joshua, Simon and David. The Alpine village of Ponte di Legno is my base and most of my guiding and courses take place in the surrounding mountain ranges: Adamello-Presamella, Ortles-Cevedale, Bernina and Brenta Dolomites.
