Ric Potter
I started climbing and skiing as a teenager in the early 1980s, and since then I have climbed and skied all over the world; extensively in the Alps and in other areas of Europe, but also in Africa, Asia and North and South America. I have had some great adventures in 30 years spent in the world's mountains, including making some first ascents in remote parts of the Andes and in the Himalayas. Since 1991 I have worked in the mountains full time - I started by leading treks and expeditions, then instructing at National Mountain Centres and guiding all over the UK, and now working as a full time Alpine Guide running a full backcountry skiing and mountaineering program. I have been a Full IFMGA Guide since 2002 and a UK qualified Mountaineering Instructor (MIC) since 1994.
As well as running my Alpine based company, RPM Guiding , I am a co-director of Llanberis Guides Ltd, a North Wales based guiding agency for rock climbing and mountain training in the UK. I live in the Chamonix valley with my family.
