Mick Tighe
Mick is an active mountain guide based in the Scottish Highlands, a few minutes drive from Ben Nevis and within easy reach of Glencoe, Skye and the Cairngorms. Sea-cliffs and sea-stacks are an enduring passion and new routes on the remote coastlines of Scotland's islands have provided entertainment for several years with many of the new routes being bagged with clients. Thirty years in Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team have built up an expertise which has matured into a speciality, to the point where training mountain rescue teams is a significant part of the yearly round.
Norway is a favourite 'other country' with cross-country skiing trips in the winter and mountaineering/rock climbing trips in the summer.
A minor hobby of collecting old mountaineering memorabilia blossomed into a very large collection, which has recently become a charity - the SCOTTISH MOUNTAIN HERITAGE COLLECTION, this can be viewed on-line from November 2009 ( www.smhc.co.uk).
