Rob Wills - www.AlpineRob.com - is a highly experienced IFMGA Mountain Guide and has worked in the outdoor industry for over 20 years, including instructing at both Plas-y-Brenin and Glenmore Lodge.
Alpine Climbing in Summer
With an intimiate knowledge of the Alps, Rob spends the whole summer guiding there and has done so for the last 10 years. He's based in the Chamonix valley and also works out of the Arolla, Saas Fee and Zermatt valleys in Switzerland. Rob's personal climbs include the North Face of the Eiger and a solo ascent of the Walker Spur. He specialises in:
MOUNTAINEERING - guiding clients on 4000m peaks, including Mont Blanc
ALPINISM - guiding clients on Technical Alpine Routes from Frendo Spur (D) on the Aiguille du Midi to the Walker Spur (ED1) on Grandes Jorasses
ALPINE PREPARATION - introducing clients to using crampons and ice axes, moving on glaciers, ropework, etc
Ice Climbing Scotland in Winter
From beginners' courses, through learning to lead and pushing your grades, Rob focuses on your technique, placing protection and understanding the winter environment, to ensure your Ice Climbing improves safely and proficiently.
Rock Climbing UK, Spring and Autumn
Climbing outdoors for the first time, working on your outdoor skills and ropework, Rob offers expert, friendly, outdoor climbing instruction tailored to your level of experience, at some of the loveliest crags in the UK and the climbing is suitable for all abilities.
Expeditions
An experienced Mountaineer and Guide, Rob has an enviable list of ascents including Mt McKinley (Denali). Rob regularly leads expeditions to 7000m and 8000m peaks, including Aconcagua and Everest.
