British Mountain Guide Al George passed away last Sunday morning
After his long battle, Al George passed away last Sunday morning. Al had been deteriorating for some time but did rally briefly on Friday, joking with the nursing staff that had done such a great job of looking after him in the last few months. He died peacefully in his sleep.
So many people - family, friends, colleagues, and clients - will have reason to mourn the loss of such a popular and well loved Guide.
Our thoughts are with Rachel, Phil and their families.
Al's funeral will be held at 3pm on Friday 15th May at Bangor Crematorium. After the service, the family would like to invite everyone to join them at the Victoria Hotel Llanberis.
Dress as you feel comfortable.
Flowers or donations appreciated. Donations payable to Al's Therapy will be to buy specialist equipment for Eryri hospital, specifically a reclining wheelchair to allow patients to get out in the fresh air in safety and comfort. Al really appreciated having friends and family take him outside, but the current equipment limited his comfort.
