British Mountain Guides - example of highest quality at National Skills Academy launch
The launch of the National Skills Academy for the Outdoors was recently held at the Rheged Centre in Penrith.
The inspirational talk (on striving for the highest quality in the outdoor industry) was given by Jo Gambi - Everest Summitteer and Polar Explorer. In the Guiness World Records for the fastest female ascent of the Seven Summits, Jo is a client and friend to several British Mountain Guides. Martin Chester (BMG Guide and publicity officer) was at the launch to represent Plas Y Brenin National Mountain Centre, he reports:
"Jo was sharing her experiences as a client, who had researched the leading 'outdoor providers' and chosen a member of the BMG to Guide her, and husband Rob, on Everest. She had been thoroughly impressed with the way her Guide "really looked after his staff" and the expedition as a whole. As a shrewd business woman she wanted the best expertise she could get - and it was praise indeed that she chose a British Mountain Guide"
