BMG film début at the London Excel Outdoors Show
There were many new thing for the BMG at the Outdoors Show last week. The first BMG stand at this type of event, the first showing of the new BMG film, The first test of our new branded pop up poster and the first time our BMG logo has been worn as a clothing badge!
Martin Chester (former publicity officer to the BMG) brought his final project to a close at the Outdoors Show. The BMG film, show casing the great diversity of work British Mountain Guides get up to, was shown to great effect amid many thousands of outdoory people over the course of 4 busy days.
Not satisfied with onlookers merely observing the film and new BMG promotional stands, BMG Guides Martin Chester, Ric Potter and Owen Samuel engaged the public with mini alpine skills tutorials. Many business cards were handed out and many potential BMG clients walked away, all having learned a rope trick or two and that, wherever in the world you want to go mountaineering, there’s a British Mountain Guide at your service.
Martin and Owen also gave well received presentations at the outdoor careers stage on the work of a Mountain Guide. These also served to promote the BMG open day planned for the 19th May. (BMG Open Day Link) Libby Peter and Mal Creasy also helped bolster guide numbers.
The success of this show served to reinforce the value of a BMG presence at outdoor orientated events. Watch this space for information on the BMG being present at upcoming events on the UK mountaineering calendar…
