BMG ski another 8000m Peak
Kenton on top of Manaslu
British Mountain Guide, Kenton Cool, successfully guided Manaslu, and made his second ski descent of an 8000m peak
British Mountain Guide Kenton Cool has been succesful in his latest expedition – to ski down the world’s 8th highest mountain, Mount Manaslu (8,163m) in Nepal. Kenton first came to fame for his Piolet d’Or award for a first ascent on Annapurna III in Nepal in 2003. In 2007 he guided Sir Ranulph Fiennes up the North face of the Eiger in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Having been to the summit of Everest a staggering eight times, Kenton has plenty of experience at high altitude. Four years ago, he made a ski descent of another 8,000 metre peak – Cho Oyu in Tibet, the 6th highest mountain on the planet.
Kenton said of the expedition:
"To finish on a high note is always the way one likes to finish, and this expedition is just that, a great success. On Sept 30th the Dream Guides team manage to put 4 members on the summit of the 8th highest mountain in the world."
By making the descent on skis, puts Kenton in the record books as the only Briton to have skied two 8,000 metre peaks.
