British Guides compete in world class ski-alpinism event
BMG Guides at Pierra Menta
Three British Guides competed in this year's 'Pierra Menta' - ski alpinisms answer to the 'Tour du France'
Competitive ski mountaineering must be one of the toughest and most demanding adventure racing disciplines on the world circuit. Last week perfect sunshine and snow conditions greeted the 25th edition of the Pierra Menta, the ski alpinism's version of the 'Tour du France'. 4 days with over 10,000 metres of ascent and descent across varied alpine terrain with some icy 45 degree couloirs thrown in for fun, make this by far the toughest event of its kind.
No less than three members of the British Mountain Guides competed with very respectable finishes, Jon Bracey 25th place (and the best ever finish by a British competitor), and Jon Morgan + Rick Marchant 77th.

Congratulations to the boys for a great performance on a world class stage.
