Four new Guides for 2009

Matt, Richard, Rob, Tim and Hannah celebrate success

BMG are delighted to congratulate four new Guides on completion of the training and assessment scheme

This year, the British Mountain Guides can welcome four new Guides to the association. Matt Helliker, Hannah Burrows-Smith, Tim Blakemore and Rob Jarvis have completed the training and assessment scheme, and now receive their IFMGA badges and Carnet.

Richard Mansfield, their training officer, raised a glass to their achievements at a recent 'completion day' at Plas y Brenin National Mountain Centre in Snowdonia.

This is the final stage in their long and rewarding journey to becoming a Guide. The scheme usually takes highly experienced climbers many years to complete, with numerous training and assessment courses in a variety of locations along the way. For more details of just what it takes to 'become a Mountain Guide' you'll find all the information on this site.

Congratulations to Matt, Hannah, Tim and Rob.

You can find their details (along with all British Mountain Guides) on the 'members' pages of this site.
