The winter climbing conditions are great now in the Lakes, and we've been enjoying classics like Bowfell Buttress, Viking Buttress on Helvellyn, Pendulum Ridge on Scrubby Crag, and of course the routes on Great End are in fantastic shape too. The snow that gave such amazing skiing earlier has thawed and refrozen, leaving easy approach walks, firm neve in the gullies and plenty of ice; perfect climbing conditions.
Right now Robin is winter climbing and mountaineering in the Lakes and Scotland. In spring he will be available for ski mountaineering in the Alps, and rock climbing and mountaineering in the Lakes, and of course he’ll be Alpine mountaineering all summer. To join him please email or phone on 015395 31598.
Robin offers guiding and instruction for individuals, couples and small groups in alpine mountaineering, climbing, and ski mountaineering. He provides a tailor made guiding service for clients, whether they wish to achieve particular objectives or gain new skills. Robin has led many expeditions to mountains all over the world, and has climbed extensively in the Himalaya, Africa and South America. He has successfully climbed with clients to the summits of Everest and Broad Peak. Robin also enjoys leading ski touring groups in the Arctic most years.
Robin is based in the Lake District and the Alps. He climbs all over the Alps - particularly the Saas/Zermatt and Chamonix areas – and has climbed most of the 4000 metre peaks in the Alps as a guide. When in the UK he takes people rock climbing and winter mountaineering in both the Lakes and Scotland. Robin likes nothing better than going off the beaten track in search of interesting objectives.
