We are pleased to announce that the British Mountain Guides (BMG) will be providing a free Avalanche Awareness day in cooperation with Facewest and Arc’teryx. Experienced British Mountain Guide, Graham McMahon, will provide transceiver training and instruction on avalanche safety.
Graham has over 25 years of mountain experience, and currently spends the winters skiing and the summers climbing. He also provides avalanche training for the Ski Club of Great Britain and heads the mountaineering training for the UK’s UIAA Diploma in Mountain Medicine.
The knowledge gained from this event is vital to anyone who spends time in the mountains. The day promises not only to be incredibly helpful, but also a good bit of fun.
The course will take place on Saturday 10th January 2015 at the Edale Youth Hostel and will begin at 9:30am, with a likely finish time of around 5pm.

This event is open to everyone and anyone, and is absolutely free! Places are provided on a first come, first served basis, and we will ask you for a fully refundable reservation payment which will be refunded upon attendance of the course.
